Howdy, my name is Katt Kolt.  I grew up on a farm around Holden Mo with four brothers and one sister.

My folks were quite the dairy farmers of the community. I helped my pa put up hay, work the fields and milk the dairy cattle.  I helped my ma with house chores and cooking for my brothers and sister.   After I finished school, I worked in town at the general store and did some hair fixin.

I met my husband, Kitt Kolt at the community dance in Harrisonville, MO.  We were engaged two years and married on his ranch at Drexel, MO. We have five horses, three dogs, two cats, and various cattle. Kitt and I had been to many places and shows over the years. We had been to Tombstone for a National Competition. Where Kitt took third place, and I took fourth place in a quick draw contest.  Our western group took second place overall in the competition of Reenactments. We have been to Texas and California for events and shows.  We went to the Roy Rogers  and Dale Evans Museum to attend.  Met many great celebrities.

Kitt had disappeared for some time which left me to now think  he could of been caught by Indians, being a scout for the army. He had left me with our youngins to raise. Kitt taught me the ways of the gun while he was home.    During that time I had to teach myself how to survive the old west. While the town turned corrupt in which the ole banker Johnson, Sheriff Poe, and corrupt townsmen took mine and other ladies property away. I was then to take up my gun to defend myself and to survive. The ladies that were thrown off there land and I formed a gang and called ourselves “the bad girls”. We all learned how to use our guns to protect ourselves from any more doins from the evilness. I took my youngins to my folks house and left them for awhile until things got better for us to live back on our ranch.

The bad girls gang and I  were on the way to   regain our properties and to get rid of such doins in a community.   We were not going to be run off without a fight.  I met a man which called himself Vernon P Fife, and he told me that Kitt was alive and coming back. I just could not believe it but I met him at Main City down at old Bishop’s place. And what a reunion!  We had told him what had happened and the rest of the girls gang had met us at a hiding place which we started to make plans.

No one messes around with Katt Kolt and her Bad Girls here in this part of western Mo. We all have our ranches and properties back Kitt made his saddle pal, Vernon P Fife, a deputy US Marshall..  Vern and I kept  the peace for Kitt while he’s off doing his duties.

Well I am going to have to be hitting the trail to get the youngins home so we will meet you on down the trail!
