Howdy, my name is Kitt Kolt.
I grew up on a cattle ranch here in MO around the township of Drexel. Our folks raised beef cattle. We always had a good
herd of horses. I have done my share of
breaking and training horses. After I finished
my schooling I got a hankering for something different so I set off to CA. Hired on to s ship and sailed the seas for four
years. Traveled all over the world and seen different cultures. I decided that cowboying was the way for me and
couldn’t wait to get back to my families homestead in MO. Here I took up the trail as a scout for the army.
While back home one summer I met my lovely wife, Katt Kolt, at the Harrisonville community
dance.
We courted for about two years and got married on my ranch near Drexel, MO. It was here that Katt raised the youngins while I
was off scouting and trail blazing during the Indian wars for the army. I was caught up in
an ambush, knocked out with a tomahawk. I lost my memory for a couple of years and just
wandered through the west. During this time everyone thought I was dead and was never
coming back.
The ol banker Johnson in Drexel, Mo came up with some kind of phony note on my
ranch and ran Katt off of it for non-payment. In fact there were many women and folks ran
off there property for this callous deed. Katt and the lady folk who were ran off there
property formed up a gang calling themselves the “bad girls” and planning on
getting even with the banker, sheriff, and townsmen.
I got my memory back and was heading back home to look for Katt, when I ran onto
the sheriff Poe and his cut-throats that was running the area his way. Little did he know that I was now the US Marshall,
which was here to clean up the area and all the trouble.
My purpose was to get everyone’s property that was rightfully theirs including
mine back to the rightful owners. I
didn’t know what had happened to my wife and family yet. I ran onto a good ole school
pal of mine, Vernon P Fife. On the trail to Drexel, he told
me about the phony bank note on my ranch and running Katt and others out of town and off
there properties. I told Vern to get in touch
with Katt and to meet me at the old Bishop’s place near Main City to discuss what we
were going to do. She didn’t believe Vern
at first that I was alive and back here. To say that when we finally met we had a happy
reunion after the two years of Hell would be quite an understatement. She now is quite a gun handler and her all girl
gang is something to see. Katt and the Bad
Girls, along with Vern, is all that I had to back me up in my fight with the corrupt
sheriff, deputies, banker Johnson, and townsmen. When the sheriff thought he had had me
about hung from a rope, my ole cousin, the town drunk, pulled a fast one on the sheriff
with a gun and pulled my gun away from the sheriff and called on Katt and the bad girls to
come out. The sheriff thinking that he had me and the ladies dead to right called out his
deputies and town cronies. After the gun smoke had cleared, the sheriff, deputies, and
townsmen were all taken care of. The only one that got it was the ole town drunk which
saved me and that was my cousin Justin Morgan.
Now with my US Marshall duties, I still do a lot of traveling. I guarantee one thing! No one messes around with
Katt Kolt and her Bad Girls here in this part of western Mo. We all have our ranches and
properties back. I made my saddle pal, Vernon P Fife, a deputy US Marshall. He along with Katt keeps the peace for me while I
am off doing my duties.
