The best I can recall I was born in 1840 in what is now the state of Kansas. When I was 14 in 1854 Kansas became a territory and when I was 21 in 1861 Kansas became a state. Also that year the Civil War started. I joined the Union Army and unfortunately was in quite a few battles of that tragic time period of our country. After the war I returned to Kansas and worked on cattle ranches in the flint hills until 1875. That same year I wondered into Wichita and met what was to be my best friend Marshal Wyatt Earp. After being Wyatt’s deputy for a year we both moved to Dodge City in 1876. Also became friends with Bat Masterson and Doc Holliday while in Dodge City. In 1878 Wyatt left Dodge City and headed west. I decided to head to Missouri. From my past experience in Dodge City not only as a deputy, but thanks to Wyatt, Doc and Bat I had experience with cards and running a saloon. I came to the town of Tumbleweed and decided to settle there. One night in the Tumbleweed Palace Saloon the owner of that establishment and I were in a big poker game. I was lucky that night and by dawn I had won the papers to my saloon. If you’r ever in Tumbleweed stop by the Tumbleweed Palace, have a drink, play some cards and have a good time.

Now that you have a little information about the main character that I portray, I thought a little bio on the real me would be appropriate. I am Alan Hilsabeck, I was born in Coffeyville, Kansas. For 22 years and 10 months of my adult life I was a member of the United States Air Force. Due to some health problems I had to retire at the young age of 40. To take up my time I ran for City Council and was elected. After serving one term on the City Council, I didn’t run for a second term. I then decided I had to find something I enjoyed doing with my time and I discovered an old west group. That group folded a few years later. Most of the members who wanted to have fun and educate people of all ages on gun safety education and history formed a new group called The Osage Valley Vigilantes. I am having a great time with that group. I also a member of MVACA and Colt Collectors Association. The other hobby that my wife, Cathy and I had was collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments and Department 56 Dickens’ Village. We have decided to sell both collections, so if you are interested in either of these collections please visit our web site at www.christmasornies.com Now you know a little about me.
